Disney's Guided ToursDisney's Guided Tours |
Disney does such a good job of hiding the figurative ropes and pulleys that you'll be disappointed if you hope to catch a glimpse of what makes Disney really work. To meet the growing demands of interminably curious guests, Disney offers tours and programs that satisfy the need for more knowledge, more trivia, more history, and more fun! Advance reservations may (and should) be made up to 30 days in advance by phoning 714-781-TOUR (8687) or by visiting Guest Services (hotels) or Guest Relations (parks). Discounts are available to Annual Passholders (20% on nearly all tours), Disney Vacation Club Members (20% on most tours), and Disney Visa cardholders (15% on select tours). Note that to get the Visa discount you must actually pay for the tour with your Disney Visa card. Foreign language and American Sign Language tours may be available with advance notice. Many tours require substantial walking and most are wheelchair accessible. Tours depart from the Tour Garden, located to the left of City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. (Disneyland Park). Cancel 48 hours in advance to avoid penalties. All tours require regular park admission in addition to the tour price. Guests aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Important: Bring photo ID and confirmation number with you for tour check-in, and show up 15 minutes early. |

Offered in the weeks leading up to Halloween, this 2 1/2-hour tour serves up some not-so-scary ghost tales and eerie sightings. Enjoy special Halloween treats and this year's collectible pin, as you visit thrilling attractions all around Disneyland Park and have a hauntingly good time! The tour changes somewhat from year to year. Ginger's 2016 tour group had a close-up view of an AudioAnimatronic singing flower from The Enchanted Tiki Room, before viewing the show. At the close of the tour, we were given a Haunted Mansion FastPass to be used at any time that day. Tour lengths may vary slightly; this is not a backstage peek tour. The tour is offered daily between September 15 and October 31, and begins at 4:00 p.m May require transfer from wheelchair. |

True Disneyphiles will eat up this three-hour tour filled with park facts, trivia, and an exploration of Walt's personal vision and challenges while creating the world's first theme park. Participants get front-of-the-line rides on two attractions, usually "it's a small world" and Alice in Wonderland, and receive an exclusive trading pin that opens like a tiny book, as well as lunch or dinner on Main Street from Jolly Holiday Bakery. This tour no longer visits the very exclusive Club 33 (see 1077), but it is the only chance most of us will have to visit the fabulous Dream Suite (see page 258 and page 259). We don't recommend this tour for small children, as they'll probably lose interest quickly. Times: typically 9:00 am and 2:30 pm, but this is subject to change during different seasons. May require transfer from wheelchair. We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a deeper look at Disneyland's history. |
