Drift along in a High Sierra river complete with rapids and a few splashes along the way. Your free-flowing raft braves whitewater currents, tunnels, geysers, and giant waterfalls. Bigfoot Rapids is California's longest man-made whitewater river. Be aware that you will get wet, possibly even soaked. Consider wearing a poncho or storing your valuable items in a locker. Hop aboard a raucous stagecoach ride through the park and even back in time. The stagecoach is an authentic, period vehicle and is pulled by a team of four horses. Train ride into Knott’s very own “gold” mine with colorful caverns and Audio-Animatronics figures. This is a classic Knott’s attraction, and it underwent an extensive refurb in 2014. Climb aboard an authentic, steam-powered train departing from the Calico Depot for trips around the park. Purchased by Walter Knott in 1952, these 1880 beauties are narrow-gauge trains. Mosey on by this authentic Western “hoosegow” and peek in at shadowy inmate Sad Eye Joe to hear his sad, sad tale. This is an interactive experience, as Sad Eye talks directly to guests—he may even guess your name and hometown! Tip: Send one grown-up to the front window while the rest go to see Joe. Write a quick note and Joe will include its contents in his conversation with the kids. |

One of the tallest and longest wooden roller coasters anywhere, Ghostrider starts out with a 108-foot drop and just gets better from there. This attraction even has a backstory—legend has it a Union soldier in search of gold ventured into Calico Mine one dark night and never returned. Very rough ride. Recently refurbished in early 2016. Height restriction: 48" / 122 cm to ride alone (48" / 122 cm to ride with a responsible adult)

This outdoor amphitheater is home to the Native American Dancer show, which combines storytelling, music, and dance to share the rich traditions of Native Americans. Shows are typically performed only in the evenings; check your Entertainment Guide for exact show times. |
