GETTING THERE By Car—Universal Studios Hollywood is 35 miles from the Disneyland Resort, so allow at least 45 minutes driving time (more if you’re traveling during peak traffic times). To get from Disneyland Resort to Universal Studios Hollywood by car, take I-5 north to US-101 north and exit at Universal Studios Blvd., turn right onto Universal Studios Blvd. and follow the signs to Universal Studios parking. (For directions from other locations, put the following destination address in your favorite mapping app: 100 Universal City Plz, Universal City, CA 91608-1002.) Huge parking structures are available—parking is $18 (cars) and $22 (RVs), general parking after 3:00 pm is just $10. Be sure to note where you parked (perhaps tie a scarf to your antenna?)—the parking structure is large and can be confusing. By Bus—The Starline Tours bus can get you from your Disneyland-area hotel to Universal Studios (and back) for $45/person (ages 3 & up) roundtrip—visit http://www.starlinetours.com or call 800-959-3131. For bus transportation from other points, consider a van service or shuttle (page 20). Some hotels may also offer a free or paid shuttle service. By Train—Take the Metro Rail Red Line to the Universal City Station. We rode it from Downtown Los Angeles to Universal Studios Hollywood without a hitch. Right across the street from the Universal City Station is a free shuttle to Universal Studios and CityWalk—shuttles run every 15 minutes between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm (or 8:00 pm on weekends). For more information on Metro Rail, see page 23.
