Charting the Attractions at a bug's land (closing September 4, 2018)Charting the Attractions at a bug's land (closing September 4, 2018) |
You'll start to shrink as you enter "a bug's land," based on Pixar's 1998 A Bug's Life. This is Disney California Adventure's dedicated kiddie-ride area, and your littlest bugs will have a blast! The 3-D show "It's Tough to be a Bug" is wonderful, but just might be too intense for the shy. Everything else here, though, is just right for younger visitors. Note that this land will close September 4, 2018 to make way for a new Marvel-themed experience. |
Flik's Flyers [B-4] A-OK! |
|
Your "honorary bug" will love this simple, spinning ride. Guests climb aboard four-seat "hot-air balloons" fashioned out of fake leaves, twigs, and empty food containers and spin around a pie plate. It doesn't go too high or too fast, though we'd still recommend caution for those prone to motion sickness. Tip: If you want to sit facing forward, note that the ride spins clockwise. Guests must transfer from wheelchair/ECV to ride. Note that this attraction is closing September 4, 2018 to make way for a new Marvel-themed experience. |

Francis' Ladybug Boogie [B-4] A-OK! |
|
Get dizzy on a spinning car ride—it's a touch tamer than Mad Tea Party's whirling teacups at Disneyland. Each four-person ladybug car spins and twirls in figure-eights around the "dance floor," actually switching tracks throughout the ride. Cars spin toward one another at times, neatly avoiding collisions. These spin on their own, but weight distribution makes that happen. Tip: Single riders or adults with a smaller child should sit by the door to make sure it spins—ask a cast member where to sit. No lap-sitting is allowed on this ride. Guests must transfer from wheelchair/ECV to ride. Note that this attraction is closing September 4, 2018 to make way for a new Marvel-themed experience. |

Heimlich's Chew Chew Train [C-4] A-OK! |
|
Hop aboard Heimlich as he munches his way through his favorite tasty treats. This miniature train ride has two-person seats and travels at a sedate pace. We recommend you avoid sitting in the very front or back of the train, as you may miss some of the narration. Ginger gives this a 6 because of the candy aromas and the kiddy-humor belch. Must transfer from wheelchair/ECV to ride. Note that this attraction is closing September 4, 2018 to make way for a new Marvel-themed experience. |
