The streets of Disney California Adventure's Hollywood Land take you back to Hollywood's Golden Age. Check out the retro-style building facades and get a photo taken in front of the city backdrop by the Hyperion Theater. Character meet-and-greet fans will get a kick out of this area: such characters as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, Snow White, Sulley, and Sofia the First show up frequently outside the Animation Building—and Olaf braves the heat to meet fans now, too! Keep an eye out for your favorites, ask a cast member, or consult the Disneyland app to find out when your favorites will appear. |
Disney Animation [B-5] A-OK! |
|
Animation fans shouldn’t miss this walk-through of interactive exhibits and activities. Upon entering, you are in the Animation Courtyard, with huge screens showing famous animated scenes. Upcoming Disney movies are sometimes featured in this area. From here you can visit the Sorceror’s Workshop (get to know the characters—and yourself—better), Animation Academy (learn how to draw a Disney character), and Turtle Talk with Crush (real-time, voice-activated animation with the laid-back turtle from “Finding Nemo”). Characters from Disney's new movie, "Finding Dory," joined Crush in summer 2016. The amazing Toy Story Zoetrope (3-D spinning animation display) is temporarily closed at press time. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening devices. Closed captioning. |

Southern California is known for warm weather, but Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure gets Frozen every now and then. Anna and Elsa from the wildly popular 2013 movie are on hand to greet your prince or princess in the Disney Animation building. For some reason, Arendelle's royal sisters don't draw the enormous lines at Disney California Adventure that Walt Disney World visitors see. This attraction was FASTPASS only at first, but now draws only fairly short lines, so the royal sisters can take lots of time to greet each visitor. |

Disney Junior Dance Party [C-5] A-OK! |
|
Pre-schoolers and toddlers will clamor to see their favorite characters. A cast of live performers and puppets presents a live version of Disney Channel favorites, with lots of singing, dancing, and humor. A new "dance party" show debuted on May 26, 2017 and features characters from Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and The Lion Guard! As you can imagine, this is a big hit with young kids, who are invited to sit up front, sing, and dance along with the show. The new show is a musically infused, interactive concert format that involves you directly in the experience. Seating is on a carpeted floor with some benches along the back wall. Show up early to get a seat! Outdoor, covered queue. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening devices. Closed captioning. |
