Ah, who doesn’t recognize this classic icon of Disneyland? You can board the monorail here in Tomorrowland to get one-way transportation to Downtown Disney. If you get off at Downtown Disney and plan to return to the park, visitors with single-day passes need to get a handstamp. The outdoor queue is both covered and uncovered, and the waits aren’t too bad until dinnertime and the last hour or so of the day. This was America’s first monorail to operate on a daily basis back when it was introduced in 1959 as the Mark I system. The current Mark VII system features a sleek retro design and enhanced seating. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. For more details, see page 88. |

Disneyland Railroad--Tomorrowland Station [G-4] A-OK! |
|
The Disneyland Railroad reopens in the summer of 2017, adding a new trestle bridge over the Rivers of America. It closed in January 2016, as a new northern bank was added to the waterway, part of the construction of the new Star Wars Land. While it's closed, though, Disney has a special experience planned for train buffs. Engineers will be available at the Main Street, U.S.A. and New Orleans Square stations to give you the lowdown on operating the trains, plus trivia and history. Get up close and personal with the historic steam engines, get your photo with one, and learn all about the Disneyland Railroad. |

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage [F-3] A-OK! |
|
Disneyland’s fabled subs have been recruited in the search to find Nemo from the Disney/Pixar film "Finding Nemo." After extensive rehabilitation and upgrades, the Sub Lagoon has been transformed into the Great Barrier Reef, and cutting-edge technology allows Marlin, Dory, and other familiar finny friends to appear to swim freely in the waters outside your sub’s port holes as they hunt for the missing clownfish. Lines can be extremely long since the subs take a while to load/unload, and because this voyage is just so darned good. Riders descend a stairway into the bright yellow subs, where they’ll find fold-up bench seats along both sides of the sub. Long rows of small portholes give everyone a view. The views out the port and starboard portholes are different, so a second ride is probably in your future. Guests must be able to walk on their own or with help from their party in order to ride. Accessible experience available to guests in wheelchairs and ECVs—speak to the cast member to request this. Handheld captioning. May be challenging for claustrophobics. |
