This colorful, cartoon world is full of sight gags, silly sets, and hidden fun. In the downtown area, check out the talking mailboxes at the Post Office, the “Clockenspiel” atop City Hall (when it chimes, a character emerges for a meet-and-greet), Goofy’s Gas Station (what’s floating in those gas tanks?), and the phone outside the Power House. Mickey’s Fountain marks the beginning of the residential section of Toontown, which has its own “Hollywood”-type sign. Explore everything, listen carefully, and pay attention to those little details—this is the real fun of Mickey’s Toontown. |
Chip 'n' Dale Treehouse [D-1] A-OK! |
|
Kids can pretend to be chipmunks and scurry up a giant oak tree to frolic and play. Just climb up the spiral staircase and explore. Parents, this is mostly just a gussied-up jungle gym, but it’s an easy way for the kids to burn off some energy for a few minutes—if you need to go in after your kids, use the full-size stairs on the left. It used to also have a slide and the Acorn Crawl, a room filled with “acorns” (balls) for the kids to play in, but these were removed years ago and there’s not really much to do anymore. There’s virtually no wait for this attraction, if you can still call it that. |

Disneyland Railroad--Mickey's Toontown Station [E-1] A-OK! |
|
The Disneyland Railroad reopens in the summer of 2017, adding a new trestle bridge over the Rivers of America. It closed in January 2016, as a new northern bank was added to the waterway, part of the construction of the new Star Wars Land. While it's closed, though, Disney has a special experience planned for train buffs. Engineers will be available at the Main Street, U.S.A. and New Orleans Square stations to give you the lowdown on operating the trains, plus trivia and history. Get up close and personal with the historic steam engines, get your photo with one, and learn all about the Disneyland Railroad. |

Donald's Boat [D-1] A-OK! |
|
Your little ducklings will have a hoot exploring Unca Donald’s boat, the “S.S. Miss Daisy.” Climb up to the pilothouse to sound the ship’s horn or take a turn at the wheel. Check out the hammock in his bunkroom, and see if you can identify all his friends in his pictures. You'll have a nice view of Toontown from the top deck. Must be ambulatory. |

Finally, a steel roller coaster just for kids! Climb into your two-person “acorn shell” car for a pint-sized thrill. Beware grownups: the seats may be too small for big/tall adults. Alas, the ride is over before you know it, making it hardly worth the long wait. By the way, Gadget Hackwrench was the mouse inventor from the short-lived “Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers” cartoon show on Toon Disney, 1989–1990. Kids must be with an adult. Must transfer from wheelchair to ride. Height restriction: 35" / 89 cm
