Pixie Hollow [E-4] A-OK! |
|
What's a fairy-tale land without fairies? Tinker Bell and one or two of her fairy besties are on hand in Pixie Hollow to add a little pixie dust to your day. As you wind through the queue, you'll find out what it's like to be fairy-sized, and see how the fairies spread magic throughout the world. Watch for adorable fairy houses and an enchanting miniature sailboat in the pond near the entry. Wheelchair/ECV accessible. |

While it may not be listed on your guidemap as an attraction, we think it qualifies. Sleeping Beauty Castle serves as the focal point of the park and offers the perfect entry point to Fantasyland beyond. The 77 ft. tall castle bears an uncanny resemblance to the Bavarian castle “Neuschwanstein,” though Disney’s is made of wood and concrete with 22-karat gold leaf. Don't miss the lovely (but somewhat dark) walk-through diorama of the Sleeping Beauty story. A video version is available on the ground floor if you want to skip the stairs—you can also see some lovely "royal" mementos in a display case and rest on a quiet bench here. Spend some time in the romantic garden on the east end of the castle—this delightful little area is Snow White Grotto, complete with a melodic wishing well and a waterfall fountain. In the evenings, lighting effects appear on the castle. Note that there is no restaurant in this castle. |

Become Snow White and experience her classic story in wooden mining cars that carry you from scene to scene. The Evil Queen/Witch provides the scares, but just when things get too gloomy, you’ll be transported into the welcome arms of the Seven Dwarfs and Prince Charming. May be too intense for young children—it’s quite dark and the Evil Queen/Witch is everywhere. Watch the large window above the entrance for the Evil Queen. Short waits. Must transfer from wheelchair to ride. One of the original attractions operating on opening day! |

Storybook Land Canal Boats [E-2] A-OK! |
|
Take a sweet, simple cruise through classic storybook scenes in miniature (1/12th scale). You board one of the large boats—each named after a famous heroine from a classic Disney story—and enter through the mouth of Monstro the whale. You’ll see scenes from Three Little Pigs, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Snow White, and Cinderella. In its first major update of this ride since 1994, Disney has added scenes from "Frozen"—look for Arendelle, Wandering Oaken's Trading Post, and Elsa's Ice Palace! Medium waits. Must transfer from wheelchair to ride. |
