Disneyland--Fantasyland--small world
It is indeed a small,
small world.
by GingerJ

“It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears...” Yes, these are Disney’s famous singing and dancing dolls, who first debuted their act at the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair. Their catchy song by the legendary Sherman Brothers adapts to the local surroundings as your boat floats sedately past scenes depicting the world’s continents and cultures. You’ll be either charmed or bored by the rich costumes and details. Renovated several years ago, it now features a “Spirit of America” scene and 29 new Disney and Pixar characters integrated seamlessly among the various existing scenes. This ride becomes a jolly winter wonderland between Thanksgiving and mid January, which is beloved even by people who don't normally enjoy this ride. Short to medium waits (longer when the holiday show is up). Must transfer from ECV to wheelchair to ride. Work is being done at this attraction to relocate the queue and adjust the parade route in preparation for the opening of "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" in 2019.

    King Arthur Carrousel [D-3]      A-OK!

Disneyland Park - King Arthur Carrousel
Ride the painted ponies
by chezp

A colorful, well-maintained carrousel painted with scenes from Sleeping Beauty, near the center of Fantasyland. Each of the 72 moveable, antique horses was beautifully carved in Germany in 1875. A bench is available for those who don’t want to mount a horse. Disney tunes make it a joy for the ears! Enchanting in the evening. Wheelchair-friendly. Adult supervision of young children required. One of the original attractions available on opening day.

    Mad Tea Party [E-3]

Alexander and Dave in a Teacup
Wheee!
by Jennifer Marx

Spin and spin and spin some more inside a giant teacup. Young kids love to get dizzy, so this ride draws them like a magnet. Turn the metal wheel at the center of your teacup to make it spin even faster. You’ll be as dizzy as the Mad Hatter. This is one ride that lasts a bit longer than you’d like. Sit this one out if you’re prone to dizziness. Note that if it rains, this attraction will close as a little water prevents the tea cups from spinning. Uncovered queue. Must transfer from wheelchair.

    Matterhorn Bobsleds [E-3]

Disneyland - Matterhorn
Prepare for a bumpy ride
by DopeyGirl

The 1/100th scale Matterhorn peak houses what was the world's first tubular steel roller coaster, circa 1959. Hop in one of the two deceptively long lines for one of two slightly different ride experiences—thrill-seekers should take the left line on the Tomorrowland side, while those who prefer a smoother, slightly longer ride should take the right line on the Fantasyland side. In both, you sit front-to-back in a six-person “bobsled” that winds through dark, alpine tunnels past dripping icicles, misty caves, giant crystals, and an angry Abominable Snowman. Be leery of riding in the rain—while most of the ride is inside the mountain, dirty rain water still collects in the bottom of the bobsleds and gets all over your shoes. This very bumpy, jerky coaster is relatively tame but it knocks you around a bit, and the dark makes it seem scarier. You may get a bit damp at the “splashdown” finale. Matterhorn reopened in spring 2017 after a length refurbishment, which added FastPass to the attraction. Uncovered queue. Health warning. Rider swap, single rider line. Must transfer from wheelchair.
