Jungle Cruise [C-5] A-OK! |
|
See the sights along the “rivers of the world” in the company of an intrepid and slightly silly skipper. You and your fellow explorers will go chug-chugging up river in an open-air, awning-covered river boat inspired by the movie “African Queen.” The Jungle Cruise was one of the original attractions when Disneyland opened in 1955. Although its technology is no longer super impressive, this ride is a beloved classic. Every skipper tells a slightly different tale. Audio-Animatronics animals and “natives” liven things up. You may get damp. After-dark cruises are particularly fun. Outdoor, covered queue—lines can be deceptively long. During the holidays, this ride is transformed into the Jingle Cruise, with special versions of the skipper's jokes and lots of silly holiday attire on the Animatronics. May remain in wheelchair or ECV, but must request accessible boat. |

Disneyland is going to convert Aladdin's Oasis into The Tropical Hideaway attraction. The new attraction is being billed as a rest stop for those. The new attraction is being billed as a "one-of-a-kind destination" and a "popular rest stop for Adventureland locals and weary explorers alike. Guests will be able to rub elbows with their favorite skippers in an exotic traders’ market, featuring all of the sights, sounds and flavors of the tropics." No opening date has been announced. |

The story of Tarzan unfolds as you climb through the branches of the huge (and very fake) banyan tree, known affectionately as “Disneyodendron Semper Florens.” The treehouse has multiple levels which you access via stairs and it can be tiring for some. The line of guests winds through slowly, but there is rarely a wait to enter. Prior to 1999, this tree was home to the shipwrecked family from the Disney classic “Swiss Family Robinson.” Take in great views of Adventureland from the top. A cute interactive play area for kids awaits at the base of the tree. The lowest level is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. |
