DINING Paradise Pier is Californian, right down to its dining choices (all are described in detail starting on page 232). The PCH Grill offers a character breakfast with Mickey Mouse and four or five of his besties every morning, and California cuisine for lunch and dinner. The Surfside Lounge serves adult beverages, but you can also order coffee, breakfast pastries, sandwiches, and light meals from the PCH Grill next door. The Sand Bar pool bar on the pool deck (3rd floor) is open in the summer only and serves hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. |
PLAYING & RELAXING For Athletes: Mickey’s Beach Fitness Center on the 2nd floor offers exercise equipment and weight machines. Access is available to all hotel guests. You can also swim laps in the rooftop pool, and walk/jog on the nearby Disneyland Hotel grounds. For Children: Look in the lobby for the “Paradise Theater,” a beach-themed TV room that shows kids' movies! Alas, there is no playground at this hotel. Families may use the playground at the nearby Disneyland Hotel, however. For Everyone: View the Disneyland fireworks from the rooftop pool, with the music and dialog piped in from the park. For Gamers: A small arcade is near the back of the hotel on the 1st floor. For Movie Buffs: Watch movie nights under the stars from the rooftop pool on select nights—check with the front desk for dates, times, and movies. Bring your own refreshments. For Shoppers: Mickey in Paradise is a Disney theme shop with logo wear, gifts, and collectibles. For Swimmers: The terraced rooftop—accessible via the 3rd floor—is the home of a large heated pool, wading pool, whirlpool spa (hot tub), and California Screamin' water slide. Pool hours vary by season, but it usually is open until 10:00 or 11:00 pm. A whirlpool spa (hot tub) is nearby. ![]() Paradise Theater shows classic Disney movies by GingerJ |
ACCESS Previously, one of the best features of the Paradise Pier Hotel was its easy access to Disney California Adventure—there was a Disney California Adventure park entrance for the “exclusive use” of Paradise Pier Hotel guests. The gate was closed when Disney found guests weren’t using it and instead were cutting through the Grand Californian’s lobby to get to Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Park, and Downtown Disney District. We found it fastest to go in the Grand Californian’s lobby, exit on the Downtown Disney side, and walk the rest of the way. The monorail at Downtown Disney is always an option, too. Parking is available in a multi-level lot behind the hotel, $18/night for self-parking, more for oversized vehicles (see 1049). Valet parking is available for $28/day. Airport buses stop just outside the hotel; ask at Guest Services about shuttles to other parks. |
