Disney’s Grand Californian offers an excellent cross-section of dining options (details start on page 231). Napa Rose is an award-winning, upscale, dinner-only restaurant offering fresh California cuisine. Storyteller’s Cafe is a family favorite, serving breakfast (with characters), lunch, and dinner. Hearthstone Lounge is a coffee shop with baked goods in the morning, and cocktails and snacks throughout the day. White Water Snacks is a quick-service cafe. Room service is available 24 hours.

PLAYING & RELAXING

Where to work out

by GingerJ

For Athletes: Rejuvenate in the Mandara Spa, where natural woods and stone, with just a hint of the Far East, give this relaxing retreat a special touch. The spa (open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm) offers eight exotic treatment rooms, a romantic Couples’ Pavilion, a lounge, separate men’s and women’s sauna and steam rooms, a “Nail Pavilion,” and tea pavilion.  Services include a range of massages, body wraps, manicures, pedicures, and facials. Visit http://www.mandaraspa.com for a full listing of services, and call 714-300-7350 to make advance reservations. The Eureka fitness center (open 24 hours) has a variety of exercise equipment with individual TV monitors.  Each morning at 6:00 am, the Get Up and Go Power Walk offers a brisk 2-mile walk through Disney California Adventure Park.  Sign up at Guest Services.

For Gamers: The arcade closed in 2014, but guests can hop over to Downtown Disney’s ESPN Zone for plenty of gaming fun. Paradise Pier, just across the street, also has a small arcade.

For Shoppers: The charming Acorns Gifts & Goods shop outfits you with sundries, foodstuffs, books, clothing, and Arts & Crafts-style gifts. And don't forget that the entire Downtown Disney shopping district is just a few steps away.

For Swimmers: Jump on in to the Redwood Pool, a large pool with a playful theme and a 100-ft. water slide that masquerades as the stump of a fallen redwood tree. A Mickey-shaped wading pool is also here for the kids. The Mariposa Pool is near the south wing, and the quiet Fountain Pool is a haven of relaxation. Each of the pools has its own whirlpool spa, and towels are available at all three pools.

For Weddings:  Several wedding venues and reception facilities are on the premises. For more information on getting married here, call 714-939-4610

For the Young At Heart: Stop by the Great Hall for “Tales From the Hearth,” an imaginative storytelling session for young and old alike. Check the schedule when you arrive for times.

Note: Pinocchio's Workshop, the supervised childcare club , closed suddenly in March 2017. Disney plans to move the Eureka Fitness Center to this location so it can expand the Mandara Spa.
