Childcare Near the Magic Kingdom

Pixar Play Zone [Contemporary]

Beginning April 13, 2018, a new children's program debuts at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is themed childcare featuring Pixar characters and activities (including Toy Story, Cars, and The Incredibles). There are several areas -- Bonnie's Play Room has toys, The Living Room will teach kids how to become a Junior Space Ranger and then have a sing-along with Woody & Jessie, and the Radiator Springs Racetrack is where kids build their own racecar and take turns sending them down a soapbox derby track. This new program is for potty-trained children ages 4-12 and is available 6:00-10:30 pm nightly. Cost is $65 per child plus tax. Games, dinner, and dessert are included in the price.

Lilo’s Playhouse [Polynesian Village]]

Closing July 31, 2018. Formerly the Neverland Club, the club has its own movie theatre and game arcade. The newly-redesigned club is themed to look like a fairytale brought to life, with touches from the classic Disney Little Golden Books, including “Alice In Wonderland,” “Pinocchio” and “Lady and The Tramp.” Ask about their open house daily from noon to 4:00 pm for Polynesian Village resort guests. Meal options include cheeseburgers, hamburgers, grilled shrimp skewers, grilled chicken, grilled fish, a cucumber roll, or vegetarian sushi. Allie’s KidTip: “I like the people here, and the stairs are fun to sit on and watch movies. The TV here is big!” Alex’s KidTip: “I pretended to be a pirate in Neverland!”

Kids Nite Out offers Disney-sanctioned, private in-room babysitting, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Rates are $16/hour for one child, $18.50/ hour for two children, $21/hour for three children, and $23.50/hour for four children. Note that a $10 fee for transportation is automatically applied for each session, and a $2/hour surcharge is applied to caregiving that begins after 9:00 pm. There is a four-hour minimum. Two other independent childcare agencies, Fairy Godmothers and All About Kids, offer similar services. The professional sitters will take kids to the theme parks if you make arrangements in advance (ask at time of reservation) and watch infants and children with some special needs. The sitters show up equipped to keep the kids occupied with games and activities. They are well-trained, bonded, and insured. Rates vary, depending on the age and number of kids under care. For reservations, contact Kids Nite Out at 800-696-8105 or 407-828-0920 or visit http://www.kidsniteout.com. Fairy Godmothers is at 407-275-7326. All About Kids is at 407-812-9300.
