Il Mulino New York Trattoria D $63 |
|
This traditional Italian eatery offers an extensive (if pricey) menu which features dishes from the Abruzzi region of Italy, including arancini (rice balls) ($8), carpaccio ($14), pizzas ($16–$18), risotto con funghi ($27), gnocchi bolognese ($25), ribeye steak ($41), saltimbocca ($34), and sauteed salmon ($32). Desserts are heavenly, especially the torta di cioccolati (flourless chocolate cake—$10). At meal’s end, adults are served complimentary glasses of limoncello, a sweet digestif. |

Shula's Steak House D $114 |
|
This is the most upscale steakhouse on Disney property. Beautifully grilled, flavorful beef is the focus (if you finish the 48-oz. porterhouse, they’ll engrave your name on a plaque!) but perfectly succulent fish ($33) gets the utmost respect. Grilled meats cost from $48 to $105. If you need to ask the “market price” of the 4-lb. lobster ($95), you can’t afford it! With dark wood paneling, Sinatra on the speakers, gilt-framed football photos, and formal, attentive service, you may prefer to wear a jacket or dress. Veggies are $9–$15 (split an order, and get the potato gratin, too) but the “garnish” of peppers, watercress, and mushrooms on every plate may be enough. The wine list is expansive and expensive. And order the chocolate soufflé ($11)! |

WILDERNESS LODGE RESORT RESTAURANTS |
Artist Point D $83 |
|
This visually stunning restaurant serves flavorful contemporary fare from the Pacific Northwest and is among our favorites. The dining room is a soaring, log-beamed space graced by large murals of Western landscapes and furnished with comfortable, Mission-style tables and chairs. The menu changes seasonally. For starters, try the roasted beed salad ($16), steamed mussels ($17), or smoked mushroom soup ($12). The old-standby cedar plank Chinook salmon ($47) is always rewarding, or try the veal tomahawk chop ($59), buffalo hind shank ($49) or seafood and vegetarian entrees like the sweet potato gnocchi ($30) and seared diver sea scallops ($40). For dessert, the hot berry cobbler is a must ($13). The wine list is excellent—try a wine pairing. Dress code is “business casual” (see page 228). You can also book reservations for this restaurant on OpenTable.com. |

RE: Artist Point
What is a roasted "beed"? And why nothing about the new character meal?
