TIPS FOR BLIZZARD BEACH Save time—buy park passes at Guest Relations or Lobby Concierge. There’s little shade here—use waterproof sunscreen and cover-ups! Wear water shoes to ward off the heat of the sand and sidewalks. Play miniature golf at Winter Summerland, adjacent to the water park. See page 214 for more on this imaginative mini golf course. Pick up a map on your way in to locate the lockers ($10–$15) and towels ($2). Life jackets are free if you leave an ID and/or deposit. You’ll find chaise lounges wherever you go, but on busy days, follow the path around the back end of the mountain where you’ll find secluded lounging areas and the main entrance to Runoff Rapids. Or rent a “Polar Patios” cabana here—same features and pricing as the Beachcomber Shacks on page 199. This is the “big thrill” water park, so it draws a young crowd. Typhoon Lagoon is a better choice for families. The Frozen Summer Games return to Blizzard Beach beginning on May 26, 2017. Guests can participate in a series of activities including relay races, Ski Pole Limbo, Snow Ball Toss, and more. Kristoff and Olaf will also be on hand for meet and greets with guests! |
NOTES FOR BLIZZARD BEACH If you ride the big slides, bikinis are a very risky fashion statement. You’ll have better luck with a one-piece suit. Also, swimsuits with rivets, buckles, or exposed metal are not permitted. The Beach Haus near the entrance sells just about anything you may have forgotten or lost, from sunscreen to swimsuits. When the summer weather is at its hottest, the parking lots fill up early. Use Disney buses instead, which can always drive in. Park hours: Usually 10:00 am–5:00 pm or later. A one-day pass is $63.90/adults and $57.51/kids 3–9 with tax, but you can get seasonal tickets (not valid May 27–Aug. 27, 2017) for $58.58/adults and $52.19/kids. |
RATINGS FOR BLIZZARD BEACH Ratings are explained on page 128.
