BEST TIMES TO VISIT TYPHOON LAGOON

Typhoon Lagoon is very popular during the hot months and gets crowded fast—arrive early, as gates close when the park reaches capacity. It’s also wise to stake out your beach chairs early as the good ones are grabbed quickly. We prefer to visit when it’s a bit cooler as crowds are lighter and the water is heated. The park closes annually for refurbishment (this year it is Dec. 25, 2016–Mar 11, 2017)—call 407-560-4141 to confirm. If this park’s closed, Blizzard Beach will be open. Beyond that, weekdays are better than weekends (locals love to visit the park). Visit in the late afternoon when the park empties a bit and the sun is less intense. The park may close during storms—when it reopens, it may be nearly empty. If you arrive when there are long lines, bypass them by getting your tickets at the Automated Ticket Vending Machines available here.

GETTING TO TYPHOON LAGOON

By Bus—All Disney resorts have direct buses to Typhoon Lagoon. From Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, take a bus or monorail to a nearby resort and transfer to a Typhoon Lagoon bus (which may also be the Disney Springs bus). Allow about 30–60 minutes if you travel by bus.
By Car—Take exit 67 off I-4, take the first exit and turn right on Buena Vista Dr.—the park is on the right. From Disney Springs, turn right to Buena Vista Dr. and the park is on the left. Free parking.
