An all-day refillable mug ($10.99) uses barcode scanners so you can refill without cast supervision. Buy a new barcode ($5) on future visits.

Avoid two-piece suits on slides— they may come down the slide at a different speed than you. Also, swimsuits with rivets, buckles, or exposed metal are not permitted. Wear water shoes—the sand and pavement can get quite hot.

Want to go kick it up a notch? Rent one of the premium spaces at Typhoon Lagoon known as the “Beachcomber Shacks.” Cost is $345 plus tax for a full day for up to six guests. Services include a personal attendant, private lockers, all-day drink mugs, bottled water in an ice-filled cooler, lounge furniture, and towels. Available on a first come, first serve basis. Half day rentals are also available. Want something less pricey? You can rent “Getaway Glen" (two reserved loungers, two beach chairs, a drink table, a beach umbrella and towels) for $60 plus tax—this gets you two beach chairs, an umbrella, small table, and two towels.
