Legend has it that Captain Oceanear, a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, traveled across the sea collecting treasures before she became stranded at Typhoon Lagoon. (Portraits of her hang in the Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland and aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship). This two-minute-long, family-friendly raft ride takes you to the top before plunging down the falls, where you can see some of Captain Oceaneer's treasures. Rafts fit four persons. Look for the Audio-Animatronics parrot! Opened March 12, 2017.

Waves in the world’s largest inland wave pool at the base of Mt. Mayday change every half-hour, alternating between gentle bobs and 6-foot waves. Kids enjoy the two Bay Slides to the far left and the small tidal pools near the front. Observe the waves before entering. Allie’s KidTip: “Don’t scrape yourself on the bottom.”

This “water roller coaster” has jets of water pushing you uphill, followed by short drops. Three slides: Pineapple Plunger and Coconut Crusher (1–3 riders), Banana Blaster (1–2 riders). 48”/122 cm restriction. Transfer from wheelchair/ECV.

Relax on a half-mile, 20-minute circuit around the park on inner tubes. Catch a free tube at one of five entrances. Note where you entered, too! Allie’s KidTip: “This is nice and relaxing. Little kids will like the yellow inner tubes the best.”

A slow, solo tube ride with a surprise! (Warning—ride spoilers ahead.) Rafters plunge unexpectedly into a pitch-black tunnel about half the way down. Allie’s KidTip: “The waterfall is fun! You don’t get as wet as you think you will.”

Like Keelhaul Falls, this tube ride is solo. Unlike it, Mayday Falls is fast, twisting and turning through caves and waterfalls. Allie’s KidTip: “This is very bumpy!”

Bring the family on this three- to five-person raft ride down the mountain. Watch out for waterfalls and those twisty-turny rafts! Allie’s KidTip: “This is fun! Hold on tight because you go a little fast, but that’s no problem.”

This is the ultimate thrill slide, shooting sliders down one of two slides in less than 10 seconds. Viewing bleachers at the bottom. 48”/122 cm height requirement. Health requirement. Ages 9 & up. Allie’s KidTip: “It gave me a wedgie.”
