The best entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is its themed live theater shows, described in detail on page 191–page 196. Roving entertainers take a back seat to the wildlife, of course. Fireworks shows don’t fit in here, either— they would just scare the animals.

A new nighttime spectacular, Rivers of Light, takes place along the natural stage of the River of Discovery. Guests sit in two amphitheater-style viewing areas to enjoy the water show that features live music, floating lanterns, a water screen with projected imagery. We recommend you either get FastPass+ or a Rivers of Light Dining Package, as seating is limited and the show is very popular due to its recent debut.

Other entertainment includes The Adventure Begins show, which starts 15 minutes before park opening every day—Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy arrive in a safari truck to start your adventure!

In Africa’s Harambe Village, live bands and acrobats keep the Dawa Bar and Tusker House’s outdoor tables hopping.

Visitors to Rafiki’s Planet Watch may get lucky and catch live animal acts on the outdoor stage! Also be on the lookout for DiVine, a ten-foot-tall, towering and wandering “vine.”

If you stay until park closing, you may get a little “kiss goodnight” from Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Minnie as they wave good-bye to all the guests leaving the park. Look for them in The Oasis just as you exit.
