    Japan [D-1]      A-OK!

The sound of Taiko drummers may draw you to this pavilion, featuring traditional Japanese architecture and gardens, entertaining exhibits, updated eateries, and the Mitsukoshi department store. A beautiful and peaceful retreat. Allie’s KidTip: “Go through the Japanese garden. The goldfish are neat.”

Epcot - Morocco
Twilight in Morocco

Morocco’s Moorish architecture, art exhibits, exotic cuisine, live entertainers, and crafts beckon to the adventuresome traveler. Much is hidden from the casual visitor—take the time to explore the museum and other areas. You’ll find a character meet-and-greet area virtually hidden across from Restaurant Marrakesh, plus artisans and cultural representatives scattered throughout. Excellent shopping opportunities. Allie’s KidTip: “You’ll feel like you want to go to Africa. I like the entertainers here, too.”

The Eiffel Tower, cobblestone streets, renovated eateries, shops (including a Guerlain boutique), street performers, and a film (see below) evoke the essence of France. Allie’s TeenTip: “I want to go to Paris, and this is almost as good.”

    Impressions de France [F-2]      A-OK!

The beauty and romance of France’s villages, cities, and countryside come to life in a breathtaking film. Fabulous scenery, wonderful 200˚ widescreen photography, and the best musical soundtrack at Walt Disney World (great French classical tunes) make this one of our favorites. Cool, dark theater offers seating and welcome relief. Shows on the hour and half-hour. Wrought-iron benches and small exhibits make even the indoor, air-conditioned queue enjoyable. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening. Reflective captioning. Alex’s ToddlerTip: :-( (bored) Allie’s KidTip: “You get to see Notre Dame, like in ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame.’”

    New Ratatouille Attraction [-0]

Disney announced that a new Ratatouille-inspired ride will be in the France area of World Showcase. We expect this to be similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure at the Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, where you will shrink to the size of a rat and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a Parisian restaurant. This new attraction will open in time for the resort's 50th anniversary in 2021.
