Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival [E-5]

The Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival is now running at the Magic Eye Theater. The 18-minute 3-D film festival includes a look into the visionary minds behind some of the world's most iconic animated films today. Currently, the festival showcases "Feast," "Piper," and "Get a Horse!" The pre-show features John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, giving guests an insider's view of the collaborative creative process. In June 2010, Honey I Shrunk the Audience closed here to make way for the return of Captain EO, the “4D” film starring Michael Jackson and produced by filmmakers Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas. The film graced Epcot from 1986–1994, the era of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and Captain EO was more of the same. Captain EO closed in December 2015 to make way for the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening. Reflective captioning.

Journey Into Imagination with Figment [E-5]       A-OK!

Figment, the cute purple dragon, comes roaring back to Epcot in a reenergized version of Journey Into Your Imagination. Figment and Dr. Nigel Channing (Eric Idle) team up to stimulate our imaginations with sight, sound, smell, a bit of whimsy, and music from Disney legends Richard and Robert Sherman. Highlights include Figment’s House and the final rendition of the theme song, One Little Spark. The ride still doesn’t rate an “A,” but you’ll be charmed and tickled. Riders exit into the ImageWorks interactive playground. Indoor queue with outdoor overflow queue. Effects too intense for some children. Wheelchair accessible. Alex’s ToddlerTip: “Ride again, please! :)”
