Big Thunder Mountain Railroad [A-2]         A-OK!

Big Thunder Mountain as seen from the Riverboat

by Jennifer Marx

Be prepared to grin as you ride this not-so-scary roller coaster through a wild western landscape. There is plenty of speed and lots of curves, but no fearsome drops on this 4-min. mine train ride. You’ll shake and rattle, though! Look around and enjoy Disney’s lovingly built scenes. Night rides are extra fun! Lines can be long, but there is a new, interactive queue in which you get to help the miners. 40”/102 cm height restriction, adult supervision required. Transfer from wheelchair. Health warning. Allie’s KidTip: “Listen for the howls of the wolves. I loved this ride! Can we go again?”

Height restriction: 40" / 102 cm

    Country Bear Jamboree [B-4]      A-OK!

Magic Kingdom - Frontierland - Country Bears
by DeBestWife

A troupe of Audio-Animatronics bears sings, dances, and jokes in this loving country music sendup. Grown-up city slickers might find the jokes and songs a bit corny, but the young ‘uns just might take a hankerin’ to ‘em. This is another cool, dim place to duck out of the hot Florida sun. Wheelchair accessible. Reflective captioning. Assistive listening devices. Alex’s ToddlerTip: :) Allie’s KidTip: “Listen carefully for the words to the songs. They’re funny!” TeenTip: “Boring.”

Magic Kingdom - Frontierland Shooting Gallery
by Charity17

Have fun shootin’ targets with electronic rifles. Aim at cactus, tombstones, and bits of the landscape. Pay 1 dollar (four quarters) for about 35 shots. Allie’s KidTip: “Shoot the red dots. But beware: The guns are heavy.” TweenTip: “Awesome! Rest your elbow on the pad to get the best shot.”

Welcome to Splash Mountain!
by EddieCVS

Even bystanders can get soaked when riders slide down this five-story log flume into the Briar Patch. The first ten minutes of this attraction are a gentle ride through an Audio-Animatronics wonderland with all the “brer” creatures from “The Song of the South.” Then, kersplash! 40”/102 cm height restriction, adult supervision required. Little ones can play in the charming Laughin’ Place playground near the attraction’s exit while big kids ride. Health warning. Transfer from wheelchair to ride. Alex’s ToddlerTip: A (for the playground) Allie’s KidTip: “I love Splash Mountain. On the last big drop, you might want to lean back.”

    Tom Sawyer Island [A-3]      A-OK!

Frontierland -Tom Sawyers Island
by Carlos Medina

Young ‘uns can explore caves, tunnels, and Fort Langhorn as they scamper over Tom and Huck’s legendary hangout. Kids love the bridges; oldtimers wander the winding paths and play checkers. Caves are fun, but can be very dark and confining. Board a raft near Big Thunder Mountain to reach the island. This is a great place for a break—try Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn for a snack (seasonal). Must be able to walk. Closes at dusk. Tip: Look for the hidden whitewash brushes—if you find one, tell a cast member for a surprise! Alex’s ToddlerTip: “Caves! :)” Alex’s KidTip: “The caves are cool but a little dark and scary!” Closed for refurbishment until December 21, 2018.

I believe the brushes were discontinued a few years ago.
