BEST TIMES TO GO TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM

The park tends to be the busiest on Saturdays and Sundays, and any day there are Extra Magic Hours scheduled (see page 34). We recommend you check the Extra Magic Hour schedule on Disney’s web site and avoid those days if you prefer fewer crowds. The park is drawing larger crowds in general due to the Fanatasyland expansion. Popular attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain are best done first thing in the morning to avoid long lines. Visit lands on the west (left) side of the park earlier in the day. Parents of young children are best off doing Fantasyland (particularly Peter Pan’s Flight) first as it gets busier later in the day. If you go to Splash Mountain and/or Big Thunder Mountain during parade times, note that the area can be very congested—use the riverside boardwalk or railroad instead. Shop in the afternoon to avoid crowds.

GETTING TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM

By Monorail—From the Contemporary, Polynesian Village, or Grand Floridian resorts, take the monorail directly to the park. From Epcot, take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and transfer to a Magic Kingdom express monorail or boat.
By Boat—From the TTC, ferry boats take guests to and from the Magic Kingdom. Guests at Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge and Villas, and Fort Wilderness also have a boat service.
By Bus—From all other resorts, buses take you directly to the Magic Kingdom. From Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, bus to the TTC and transfer to monorail or boat. From Downtown Disney, bus to the Contemporary and walk. If you purchased the Express Transportation service with your park hopper, you may board the bus at a park to transfer directly to the Magic Kingdom without passing through security again (see
page 124).
By Car—Take I-4 to exit 67 (westbound) or exit 62 (eastbound) and continue about four miles to the toll plaza. All-day parking is $20 (free to resort guests and annual passholders) and the pass is valid at other parks’ lots on the same day. Park, take a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and monorail or boat to the park.
By Foot—You can walk from the Contemporary Resort.
