Your resort or hotel is your home-away-from-home, and deserves special consideration. Here are our some of our best lodging tips:

“There is so much to do at your Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to pick up an activities list, every resort has them and plan some time (an hour, an afternoon or a whole day) at your resort! The activities range from trivia games, pool parties to crafts, and evening movies and campfires!! Most of the activities are free; ask guest services to be sure. And if you are staying over a special event or holiday, there may be something extra special (we participated in a mardi gras parade through Port Orleans and received beads and candy during one visit)!”

“Most Disney Resorts offer online check-in before your arrival to speed up the registration process in the lobby. On our last stay at Pop Century, we were also given the opportunity to provide our email or cell phone number and receive a text with the number of our room. We were traveling by car to the Disney area that morning, not sure whether we should head to the parks or take a chance and stop at the resort to see if our room was ready (check in was at 3:00 pm). Then we received a text stating our room was ready and the room number. We opened our PassPorter to the Pop Century map and parked near the building we were in! No need to stop at the lobby and check in—just use your Magic Band as your room key! We unloaded our luggage in our room and headed to the parks! Big time-saver!”

“My family loves the refillable mugs but doesn’t like carrying them into the parks. When we use them for breakfast, instead of carrying them to parks or bringing back to room, store your mugs at bell services. I bring an extra bag and get bell services to hold them. Then after our day at the parks we retrieve them and get a refill on the way back to room. Just keep track of the claim ticket bell services gives you!”

Magical Memory

“Don’t be afraid to stay at the value resorts! For years we only stayed at the Moderates but we recently tried All Star Sports and really liked it. While we missed a few of the amenities of the moderates, the price couldn’t be beat. We got two rooms at All Star Sports for less money than one room at Port Orleans. Our two 20+ children shared a room and my husband and I had our own room. And we had excellent bus service!”
