TIPS FOR DISNEY VACATION CLUB While you can reserve up to eleven months in advance at your home resort, you can only book seven months in advance at others. You can borrow points from the next year or save unused points until next year. You can buy more points from Disney at the going rate, or buy/sell points on the open market—we heartily recommend DVC By Resale (http://www.dvcbyresale.com, 800-844-4099). Don’t let unused points expire! If you can’t use all your points this year or prefer to use them later, you must contact DVC Member Services. Otherwise, those points expire at the end of your use year. If you can’t use points, bank them or try “renting out” your points (and non-DVC members may consider “renting” points to try out DVC). Use points you bought direct from Disney to book at most Disney resorts in the world, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, luxury hotels, and adventure travel vacations, or barter points for “swaps” at non-Disney resorts. DVC members receive many discounts on items including annual passes, resort rooms, dining, guided tours, etc. They also qualify for the Tables in Wonderland dining discount program (see page 10). DVC members staying at a DVC resort on points may purchase the Disney Dining Plan for the length of stay (see page 223). Anyone may rent Disney Vacation Club points from a DVC member, and this can be a great money-saver. For details and folks willing to rent points, visit http://www.mouseowners.com. 2018 Updates: You can expect more Moonlight Magic dates than ever before in 2018, personalized merchandise for members, PLUS daily trash removal in addition to regular housekeeping visits beginning on January 7, 2018. |
NOTES FOR DISNEY VACATION CLUB Vacancies at DVC resorts, called Disney’s Deluxe Villa Resorts, are made available to nonmembers—they are booked just like regular Disney resort reservations, and daily housekeeping is included. Thus, it may be very difficult to use your DVC points at a resort if you are booking near to your intended arrival date. Want to learn more?
