TIPS FOR DISNEY'S WILDERNESS LODGE RESORT

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is undergoing multiple renovations throughout 2017. Work continues on the pools, as well as the resort beach, playground, boardwalk, and recreation fire pit. Additionally, more Disney Vacation Club villas are being built, including 26 waterfront cabins that sleep up to 8 (see the bottom of page 95).

For good rainy day activities, ask for a kids’ activity/coloring book at the bell station or a list of Hidden Mickeys at Lobby Concierge. You can also get a list of the resort’s music at the Mercantile shop.

Explore the resort. Indian artifacts, historic paintings, and survey maps are displayed. Follow Silver Creek from its indoor origin as a hot spring and onward outside as a bubbling brook and waterfall.

Ask about becoming a Flag Family. Each morning, a family is selected to go on the Lodge roof to help raise or lower the flag! This is popular, so inquire at check-in for a better chance.

Inquire about the “Wonders of the Lodge” tour at Lobby Concierge. The walking tour explores the architecture, landscaping, totem poles, and paintings. Offered Wednesdays–Saturdays at 9:00 am.

Watch Fire Rock Geyser, modeled after Old Faithful, erupt like clockwork every hour on the hour from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. The Electrical Water Pageant is visible from the beach at 9:35 pm.

NOTES FOR DISNEY'S WILDERNESS LODGE RESORT

Courtyard-view rooms can be noisy with the sounds of children and rushing water. Opt for a Lodge view if you prefer serenity.

About 37 Lodge rooms with king beds double as the barrier-free (handicap-accessible) rooms and have a large shower with no tub.

Check-in time is 3:00/4:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am.
