TIPS FOR DISNEY'S SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT & SPA The Main Street Railroad Station at Magic Kingdom was modeled on the former station in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Carriage House, theater, and other nearby buildings were originally modeled on the architecture of another Upstate New York resort, Chautauqua. Want to relax? Barbecue pavilions, lakeside pavilions, formal gardens, and gazebos/fountains for “taking the waters” all add to the relaxed resort atmosphere. A Rapid Fill mug ($17.99) is available for purchase at The Artists’ Palette—you can refill it here and also at the pool bars. The Turf Club (see page 259) is a full-service “bar and grill” serving creatively prepared American favorites such as scallops ($13), a signature grilled romaine salad ($8), maple-citrus brined pork chop ($27), and prime rib ($32). Kids' meals are $8.59. Open 5:00 to 10:00 pm. |
NOTES FOR DISNEY'S SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT & SPA The Treehouse Villas are back! These old favorites were completely rebuilt and now feature three bedrooms (one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a whirlpool tub, another bedroom with a queen-size bed, a third bedroom with bunk beds), and a queen-size sleeper sofa and sleep chair in the living room. The Treehouse Villas also have two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry, and a deck. The fun thing about the treehouses is that they are perched on pedestals, so you’re sleeping on the second floor amidst all the trees! Note that these villas no longer have a downstairs bedroom as they did in their previous incarnation. The classroom and meeting areas of the old Disney Institute are now the main sales offices and show-villas for Disney Vacation Club. Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am. |
RATINGS FOR DISNEY'S SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT & SPA Ratings are explained on page 28.
