LOUNGING AT DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT & VILLAS The Wave offers a large lounge. Outer Rim Lounge on the 4th floor of the main tower has huge glass windows, though it is often congested with strollers. California Grill Lounge offers California wines and appetizers along with a magnificent view. Contemporary Grounds is a coffee bar near the front desk. The Top of the World lounge at Bay Lake Tower is open for DVC resort guests only. There are also two pool bars. Room service is open 24 hours a day. |
PLAYING & RELAXING AT DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT & VILLAS For Athletes: The Olympiad fitness center has exercise equipment, sauna, and massage therapies. Boat rentals add to the fun. Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre at the resort offers waterskiing and parasailing. Tennis courts are also available near Bay Lake Tower. For Gamers: A large resort arcade offers pinball and video games. For Shoppers: The fourth-floor Concourse shops sell gifts and clothing. The marina pavilion offers swimwear and sun protection. For Swimmers: The Bay Cove Pool (for Bay Lake Tower guests only) has a zero-entry pool, water slide, whirlpool spa, and an interactive children’s water feature. There are also two more heated pools, two hot tubs, and another water slide, as well as a sand beach for sunbathers (no swimming). |
GETTING AROUND FROM DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT & VILLAS The Contemporary Resort offers myriad transportation options (see the chart below for in-transit times). For the Magic Kingdom, board the monorail on the fourth floor or walk the path on the north side (see map on page 60). For Epcot, ride the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and transfer to the Epcot monorail. For other parks, take the direct bus just outside the lobby. For the Polynesian Village or Grand Floridian, take the monorail. For Fort Wilderness or the Wilderness Lodge, take the boat. For other destinations, go to the Magic Kingdom (daytime) or Disney Springs (evening) and transfer to the appropriate resort bus. Valet parking is a $25/day option.
Approximate time you will spend in transit from resort to destination during normal operation. |
