BoardWalk Inn & Villas Resort enjoys a favored location in the middle of the action, fronting Crescent Lake between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Villas are affiliated with the Disney Vacation Club (see page 108). |
AMBIENCE This “seaside” resort takes you back to the heyday of the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the 1920s and 1930s, where carefree days floated by on the summer breeze. Reminiscent of an elegant bed-and-breakfast inn, the BoardWalk continues this impression inside with its old-fashioned furnishings and soft, muted colors. Outside, a stroll along the vibrant promenade offers great views, family fun, and more eateries, clubs, and shops than you can visit. |
LAYOUT & ROOMS The two different sides of this resort offer varying accommodations, ranging from 359 to 2,142 sq. ft. BoardWalk Inn has 378 rooms with one king or two queens plus a daybed or queen sofa bed, and suites. BoardWalk Villas feature 532 studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas (suites)—studios have a kitchenette, suites have a full kitchen, big-screen TV, DVD player, and washer/dryer. All rooms in the resort have a balcony or patio, double sinks, a marble vanity, a table and chairs, a sofa, an armoire, TV, ceiling fan, toiletries, and a hair dryer. Also available are housekeeping, turndown service (on request), voice mail, and, in most rooms, an in-room safe. |
DINING Unique to this resort is a lively entertainment complex along the waterfront promenade. This innovative mini-park offers a variety of dining options. BoardWalk table-service restaurants, detailed on page 254, include Big River Grille & Brewing Works, a modern brewpub; ESPN Club, an All-American sports cafe; Flying Fish, fine dining with an ever-changing menu; and Trattoria al Forno features Italian cuisine. The Belle Vue Room offers a quick bite in the mornings. Two quick-service cafes round out the menu. The BoardWalk Bakery tempts you with an updated menu of sandwiches, baked goods, and coffee—try the roast beef and salami sandwich ($10.49), a Caesar salad ($11.49), an Oreo cupcake ($5.59), or a Jersey crumb cake ($3.79). The new Ample Hills Creamery is an ice cream parlor with a wide array of flavors in variety of cones (waffle, pretzel, M&M, chocolate cookie, etc.). |
