Of the 13 excursions offered by Disney Cruise Line, here are our recommended port adventures for visitors to Martinique:

Low Budget: Martinique is hardly a budget port, and that's reflected by the fact that the least expensive port adventures start at $59: the Belfort Banana Plantation (MQ13, $59/$42 ages 3–9, Saint Pierre Volcano Eruption History and Rum Distillery (MQ07, $59/$29 ages 3–9), and Botanical Garden & Footbridge (MQ11, $59 ages 10 and up). The Banana Plantation excursion is 3-3.5-hour tour that takes you for a 30-minute bus ride to Le Lementin along winding, scenic roads. Once you arrive, you'll be able to tour the banana fields and learn about the entire process of growing and harvesting bananas. At the end, you get to taste banana products and the famous fruit petals. The Saint Pierre Volcano Eruption History tour gives you a fascinating insight into the eruption that killed 30,000 people in 1902—this is mostly a bus tour, but it stops at the Church of Balata, the Depaz Distillery, and a visit to the town of Saint Pierre itself.

Big Budget: For $115/$59 ages 3–9, you can spend a full day in Saint Pierre (MQ02) and enjoy a Creole lunch at a local restaurant in Morne-Rouge. Or if you're feeling adventurous, try the Martinique 4x4 Off-Road Adventure (MQ08, $74/$59 ages 3–9/$50 ages 0–2) for a rollicking 4–4.5-hour drive through rivers, creeks, and flooded terrain. You ride in a comfy, air-conditioned  4x4 vehicle (think Land Rover) as you pass through tropical rainforest filled with lush vegetation and gorgeous views. You'll also get to see banana and sugar cane plantations before stopping by the Coeur Bouliki River for a rest with water, juice, or rum punch.

Beach: The best option for beach lovers is the Grand Anse Beach and Turtle Discovery tour (MQ12, $79/$59 ages 3–9) in which you get to sail on a catamaran with an underwater observatory for an hour across Flemish Bay. You'll visit Ramier Islet, the Bat Cave, and Saloman Cape, as well as watch sea turtles through the onboard submarine vision. Eventually you'll arrive at the white sand beaches of Grand Anse for an hour and 45 minutes of relaxing in the sun and surf. Enjoy rum punch, fruit juice and local cakes while listening to traditional island music on the approximately 45-minute cruise back to the pier.
