Couples Spa Villa (Magic)

Spa Villas—For the ultimate in indulgence, consider the singles and couples spa “villas” with special spa treatments. The villas are private, Mediterranean-themed treatment rooms with their own verandahs, complete with whirlpool tubs, open-air showers, and luxurious lounge “beds.” All spa treatments in the villas include a tea ceremony, a bathing ritual of your choice, and a foot cleansing ceremony—and you can spring for a bottle of champagne and strawberries or add an extra spa treatment. Treatments available in the single villas (for one person) include Alone Time (50-min. spa treatment of your choice—$199/105 min.); Body Purifying (100-min. body wrap with full body massage and dry float bed—$245/155 min.); and Sensory Awakening (facial and deep tissue massage—$295/155 min.). Treatments in the couples villas include Romantic Hideaway (50-min. spa treatment of your choice—$449/120 min.); Couples Choice (75-min. spa treatment of your choice—$475/130 min.); and Ultimate Indulgence (facial and deep tissue massage—$589/130 min.). If you do the math, you’ll see that each of these treatments has 55–70 minutes of extra time included so you can enjoy your spa villa’s amenities in privacy, though we should note that this extra time is not in one uninterrupted block but rather a bit before your treatment and the rest after. And if you need more privacy than the open-air verandah provides (remember, that is where your whirlpool tub and shower are located), there are two curtains you can use—one offers privacy for the shower, the other offers privacy for the tub. These curtains may not provide complete protection when it’s windy or when in port (just something for the shy to keep in mind), though we didn’t have difficulties in our Spa Villa experience. We absolutely adored our Spa Villa and found it infinitely relaxing and luxurious. We highly recommend it!

Special Treatments—Check your Personal Navigator or visit the spa to learn about special treatments offered during your cruise. We’ve seen Teen Days for hair and nails, Pamper Package, and a Mid-Cruise Booster Package. The Pamper Package is a 50 minute massage and 25 minute facial in a private room, plus a trip to the Tropical Rainforest where you can enjoy champagne and sweets. Cost is $150.

Cabana Massages—Get a private or couples massage in one of the delightful, open-air cabanas on Castaway Cay. Note that the treatments in the cabanas are a bit more expensive than the same ones on the ship. Prices are $147 for a single massage and $294 for a couples massage (choose from Full Body, Pro-Collagen Facial, or Reflexology Combo). Reserve early as they book up quickly. We recommend you avoid the first or second appointment of the day, just in case the ship docks late. Also, keep in mind that the oils they massage into your skin can make your skin more likely to burn later in that Castaway Cay sunshine—bring hats and coverups as well as extra sunscreen. Also see page 262.

Spa Products—The spa personnel may push their spa products during treatments, which is uncomfortable for some guests. The products are Elemis (http://www.elemis.com) and are good, but pricey. If you don’t want to buy a product, just say “no thank you” and be firm. You could also indicate on your health form that you don’t want to purchase products.

Tipping—An automatic 18% gratuity is added to all salon and spa services. As always, an additional tip can be added for exemplary service. Other adjustments may be made by visiting Guest Services on deck 3.
