Guests with special dietary requirements of virtually any type (i.e., kosher, low-sodium, vegan, allergies, etc.) are accommodated. When you make your reservation, let the representative know about any requirements. The representative notes the information with your reservation and may instruct you to meet with the Food/Beverage team after you board—they are usually available in Lumière’s/Studio Sea/Royal Palace/Royal Court from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm on your first day—check your Personal Navigator. The Food/Beverage team gets details from you and passes it on to your servers. We recommend you remind your server of your requests at your first meal. Jennifer is lactose-intolerant and requests soy milk with her meals—the attention to her request is impressive and she is always offered soy milk.
While Disney excels at these special, pre-cruise requests, we found it more difficult to get a special dish or variant ordered at the last minute. For example, you may not be able to have sauces or dressings kept on the side, because the dishes are prepared en masse in the kitchen. However, if you ask a night in advance, you'll usually get your wish. If you forget to ask, a plain salad and simple entrées are always on the menu. We note the vegetarian items in the menus later in the chapter. Kosher is only available in the table-service restaurants and you should request it before the cruise to ensure availability.
