Happiness is a full plate at Cookie’s BBQ

All Bahamian, most Caribbean, and some repositioning itineraries visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and you’ll be happy to learn your food is included in the price of your cruise! The main places to eat are Cookie’s BBQ, located directly across from the family beach and Cookie’s Too, which opened in 2010 by the far end of the expanded family beach (see island map on page 259). Both serve from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and offer burgers, BBQ ribs, grilled chicken sandwiches, lobster burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian chili, veggie burgers (on request), potato and other salads, fruit, frozen yogurt, and big chocolate chip cookies. Food is served buffet-style. Plenty of covered seating is nearby. Soft drinks are provided, or purchase alcoholic beverages across the way at the Conched Out Bar and the Sand Bar. Summertime Freeze Bar serves extra-cost, Frozen-inspired treats near Cookie's Too.

Adults 18 and over can eat at the Serenity Bay BBQ located at Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach, from about 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Offerings include burgers, salmon, grilled chicken breasts, steak sandwiches, lobster burgers, pork ribs, vegetarian chili, veggie burgers (on request), potato and other salads, fresh fruit, and fat-free frozen yogurt. Soft drinks are provided, and alcoholic beverages are at the Air Bar nearby. A dozen shaded tables are nearby, or take your tray to the beach.

In addition to the two bars already mentioned, there’s a third—the Heads Up Bar—at the far end of the jetty that divides the expanded family beach. All bars close around 3:30–4:00 pm.

Tip: If you choose not to visit Castaway Cay, a buffet is served in Cabanas, usually from about 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
