Lodging in VancouverLodging in Vancouver |
For things to do in Vancouver, see our port of call description, starting on page 373. |
Vancouver overflows with comfortable, recently renovated lodging, thanks in part to the recent Olympics. Downtown luxury is easy to find, and deals are, too, though not at the upscale Fairmont chain, which Disney offers as cruise add-ons. We’ve stayed at the three non-Fairmonts on this page. Coast Hotels offer good value and locations, but were not reviewed. |
|
Fairmont Waterfront | $254+ | .02 mi/.04 km to port | None
Just across from the cruise terminal, it doesn’t get much more convenient (or expensive) than this. The very comfortable guestrooms have expansive city or harbor views, and average 400 sq. ft. Heron’s Restaurant features herbs and honey from the hotel’s rooftop garden. Available as a DCL add-on. |
Fairmont Pacific Rim | $376+ | .17 mi/.27 km to port | None
Second-most convenient for cruisers, this deluxe hotel opened in 2010, and is diagonally across the street from the Canada Place cruise terminal. Rooms have 42-inch TVs, and the views of the city or harbor are even more spectacular. Features a day spa, rooftop pool, and extensive dining options. Available as DCL add-on. |
Fairmont Vancouver Airport | $192 | 9 mi/14.5 km to port | None
Fairmont’s in-airport deluxe hotel is convenient for those who need one night pre- or post-cruise and prefer to stay at the airport. However, with Vancouver’s great downtown, we suggest staying in-town since the airport’s still close by. 411 sq. ft. rooms with expansive views. Day spa and on-site dining. Available as a DCL add-on. |
Moda Hotel | $220+ | .8 mi/1.2 km to port | None
Modern, boutique style in a restored 1908 building. A good choice for the Robson St. theater and shopping district, and two long blocks from a Canada Line station. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, but views are pure city side street. Chic, on-site restaurants and wine bar. |
Lonsdale Quay Hotel | $116+ | 2.25 mi/3.6 km to port | None
Comfortable, boutique hotel in a small mall at the SeaBus ferry dock. A perfect spot for exploring North Vancouver’s natural wonders (great bus service from the ferry), yet Canada Place is just a short ferry ride away. On-site day spa, with restaurants nearby. A tad over-priced at rack rate, but advance purchase deals can be had. |
Ramada Limited Downtown | $121+ | .4 mi/.66 km to port | None
Budget lodging this close to the port is rare. While neat and clean, the rooms in this renovated 1913 hotel are tiny. The neighborhood is a bit rundown, but you’re just blocks from Gastown, Chinatown, and Canada Place, and the Canada Line station is within 4 blocks. If you can deal with “a bit edgy,” this may suit you. |
