Confused by all those cruise rate ranges? We feel the same way. So we researched every regular cruise rate for the past decade at early booking discounts. We then graphed the minimum rates per night (for two adults in a category 6 stateroom) into the chart below. This chart gives you a very useful overview of the historical rate trends. Rates for higher categories follow the same basic trends as category 6, so you can use this chart to pinpoint seasons for the best rates. Keep in mind, however, that these rates can and do change at any time. Don’t take the numbers in this chart at face value—concentrate on the trends instead. Also note that this chart does not take into account seasonal discounts that may be offered. You may want to compare this to the chart starting on page 52 to pick the best compromise between great cruise rates and great weather (we’re partial to May ourselves).
