Ah, what is more romantic (or simple) than getting married or renewing your vows aboard a cruise ship? Disney Cruise Line makes it very easy to do both, and when compared to a land-based wedding, the prices are a good value, too!

First, if you’re interested in either a wedding or vow renewal ceremony onboard a Disney ship, be aware that this isn’t something you can arrange on your own. You’ll need Disney’s assistance, and you’ll need to purchase their wedding or vow renewal package. Visit http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/cruises-destinations/packages/wedding-vow-renewal, for information on the “Weddings at Sea” package and the “Vow Renewal” packages. This is where you’ll find prices and package details. You can also call 321-939-4610 for information.

When you’re ready to book, call a professional Disney wedding consultant at 321-939-4610 or contact your travel agent. You can arrange a wedding or vow renewal up to 12 months in advance, though it is not necessary to book it so early—you can plan a cruise wedding or vow renewal in as little as a month or two (based on availability).

Ceremony locations vary. Many wedding ceremonies are held outdoors at the Head’s Up Bar on Castaway Cay—the lagoon and ship provide a beautiful backdrop. You may also get married in either Keys (Magic) or Cadillac Lounge (Wonder) on deck 3 forward, in secluded deck areas, or Outlook, the Dream & Fantasy’s private party space on deck 14. The lounges and Palo are also the typical spots for Vow Renewal ceremonies. Other locations may be possible under certain circumstances—inquire with your Disney wedding consultant. Ceremonies can be arranged on most itineraries, including on the West Coast and European sailings. On Castaway Cay, weddings are performed by a Bahamian official. The Captain or another officer presides at vow renewals.

Those getting married should note that you’ll have a private, legal ceremony in the cruise terminal before your ship leaves port. This means you’re technically married for your entire voyage, even though your public marriage ceremony happens later in the cruise.
