Travel Guide Updates for PassPorter's Walt Disney World 2009

(eleventh edition, released November 2008 - More Book Information)

Reminder: These updates do not include every new thing at Walt Disney World as that would require an entirely new book to explain (and, yes, we will have a 2010 edition released in November 2009)! Instead, this chart only lists the pages in PassPorter's Walt Disney World 2009 that would be out-of-date or incorrect without this information.

Note: While this list may be long, it isn't an indicator of how much of the guidebook is out-of-date. We were actually quite fortunate to have been able to print our guidebook AFTER most of the major updates were announced. This list includes lots of extra details that wouldn't necessarily appear in the printed guidebook, for your convenience. Even with all the extra information, this list comes in at less than one-half of one percent of the word count of the actual guidebook.

Tip: Do you have some news or an update that is not in this list? Let us know! If we use and publish it, we will send you a free thank-you gift! Become a PassPorter Reporter at

RSS: These updates are available in a RSS Feed, which displays the updates in reverse chronological order based on the date posted.

Stop at the Picnic In The Park podium near Guest Relations at the front of the park on your way in to place your order. Then pick up your picnic (at least two hours later, please) at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery, pay, and dine at one of the picnic spots located throughout the park. There are a variety of entrees and side dishes available, and prices vary accordingly. You can also use Disney Dining Plan Quick Service Credits, but adult credits only. So a picnic for four would cost 4 adult credits, even if two of the people picnicking are children.

During times when a train moves in reverse a new, dedicated observer is in place, and the driver is now required to move to the forward-facing cab when switching beams and the coordinator must monitor switch status from the Tower. Various other additions have been made to operating procedures and training. Disney is still in the process of assessing the recent Federal OSHA report on the accident, so further changes may still be in store.
