  The Strategies:

First, do your homework! The Internet is a great way to keep up on Disney discounts. Visit MouseSavers (http://www.mousesavers.com) for a roundup of current discounts, coupons, and deals. Join the TheMouseForLess community for more money-saving tips (http://www.themouseforless.com).

Disney's all-inclusive vacation packages are can be a bargain, especially when the Disney Dining Plan is included. But if you don't need or can't use the extra goodies and perks, you'll save money by booking a room-only reservation, and buying admission, meals, and extras once you arrive in Orlando.

Late spring and early fall are prime discount seasons for the Disney Cruise Line. Shop carefully, and pounce when a deal opens up. Otherwise, book far in advance to get an early-booking discount.

Avoid the Disney Land/Sea vacation packages that include a cruise plus a stay at Walt Disney World. Bargain-shop the cruise and resort stays separately. You'll have far greater choice and flexibility, too.

The free Orlando Magicard offers discounts on non-Disney parks, entertainment, rental cars, and hotels. 888-416-4026, or http://www.orlandoinfo.com/magicard.

Use the American Express card and receive discounts of 10%-20% on some items and services at Walt Disney World. Exchange Membership Rewards points for tickets and packages. 800-528-4800, or http://www.americanexpress.com.

AAA members enjoy discounts of 10%-20% on lodging, and 5% on tickets (when purchased in advance). 800-222-6424.

Eat only two restaurant meals a day, as Disney portions are large. Bring breakfast foods and snacks from home.

Finally, pick up a copy of PassPorter Walt Disney World guidebook. It packs in more details on each of these tips, plus many more money-saving ideas and techniques. The PassPorter even helps you budget, save receipts, and track expenses. Visit your local bookstore, call 877-929-3273, or visit http://www.passporter.com.
