Fairway Villas Overview

The Fairway Villas are just one "neighborhood" at the Disney Institute Resort complex. These villas are reported to be some of the most spacious accommodations on Disney property. As there are relatively few of these villas (only 65), information is scarce. We've gathered all the information we have on these villas together on this page. Enjoy!

Note: Jennifer took father to Walt Disney World for the first time in January 2001. She and her family stayed at the Fairway Villas. Information on these two-bedroom villas is scarce, so Jennifer put together information here for those who follow. You may also be interested in reading her report of that trip.

  General
As the name implies, the majestic Fairway Villas are scattered among the first, second, eighth, and ninth fairways of the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Quiet, tree-lined streets loop through the conclave of villas, which boasts two bus stops and a playground. The Fairway Villas are situated between the Treehouse Villas and the Welcome Center at the Disney Institute.

Villas
The villas themselves are housed in 24 slant-roofed structures, most encompassing three sets of accommodations each. The earth-green, cedar-sided buildings are crowned with peaked skylights. (Note: The Villas were originally a drab brown, but are gradually being repainted to green.)

Inside, cathedral ceilings and large windows open up the already large rooms. Furnishings are contemporary, comfortable, and moderately luxurious.

Floorplans
The Fairway Villas offer two different floor plans, both at 1520 sq. ft. The first floor plan sports the living room, kitchen, and dining room on the first level, one bedroom on the split level between the first and second floors. and the master bedroom on the second floor (accommodates 8 people). The second floor plan has the living room, kitchen, and dining room on the first floor with two bedrooms on the second (accommodates 6 people). Both floor plans have two and a half baths (two full baths adjacent to the bedrooms and the half bath by the living room). In each floor plan, one bedroom has two full beds while the other bedroom has one queen bed (and overlooks the living room). All villas have a free washer and dryer (shared with the other units in the building), full kitchen, dining tables with at least six chairs, and either a Murphy bed or a sofa sleeper in the living room.

Transportation
The Fairway Villas have two bus stops of their own -- bus stop #2 is between villas 332 and 333 and bus stop #3 is between villas 307 and 308. (Bus stop #1 is in the Treehouse Villas.) In addition, the Welcome Center isn't too far of a walk from many of the villas, meaning the boat dock is accessible. Golf carts are also easy to use at the Fairway Villas as parking is available under all the villa buildings and electric hook-ups are plentiful.

Notes
There is a 32" Sony television in the 7-foot armoire in the living room, as well as a television in the master bedroom.
