October 2013 saw the opening of an extension to an already familiar resort, with the arrival of the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

We were lucky enough to snag a night's stay there just a few days after they opened their doors, and thus were one of the first guests to experience the new Disney Vacation Club villas.

Proper Park Bag Packing
"When you are planning a day at any of the Disney theme parks make sure you pack your supplies like you pack a carry-on bag for the airplane. This means you pack small amounts of everything you need rather than all of those big bottles. Trust me, at the end of the day, with all of the added goodies your back pack or fannie pack will feel like it weighs 100 lbs or more, especially if it is hot. The most important thing is the comfort of the bag you are taking. Back packs should be light weight with good solid sturdy straps so you have options of how to carry it. The small mesh bags with the string straps are great for those carrying just a few items, but after a while they dig in to your shoulders if they are too heavy. Fannie packs should have smaller buckles or snaps. Some of them look great and feel great when you are standing and walking, but when you sit down on the ride or in the show you suddenly realize they are digging in to your back. Apply your sunscreen before you head out in the morning then fill small travel bottles with the sunscreen you will need for the day. Take a small water bottle, they are easier to carry and easier to refill at the fountains. Take a towel. They come in handy if you get wet on a water ride but they are also great for spreading out on the ground to sit on when you are watching the parades or fireworks. The best towels to take are those great little terry cloth towels for babies. You know, the ones that are square and one corner has a little hoodie on it. These towels roll up very easily and an elastic holds them nicely in a small compact roll. They also dry very quickly and because they are not very big, use a carabiner (available at most dollar stores) to hang it on your back pack to dry. Pack a baggie of band-aids. The parks have first aid stations but you never know when those little blisters or boo boo's will pop up."
