All About Stonewall

Hello! You know me as “Stonewall” but for the past 49 years, I’ve usually been referred to as Suzanne, or Mommy. I live here in Rochester, NY, which is easily distinguished from Disney World by its weather! My children are Ian, who is 25 and lives in Las Vegas (he hates all things Disney-where did I go wrong?!), Pamela, 11, and Christopher, 9. I also share my life with Andrew the Sheltie, Simon the Scottie and Mickey, the attitudinal Russian Blue cat. My teaching position as an English to Speakers of Other Languages position at the local Community College was a casualty of post 9/11 visa tightening, so I am now substitute teaching and undertaking a vigorous job search.

As a child I had always wanted to visit Disneyland, but my parents went without me, so I had to wait until I was an adult In Tokyo to experience Disney for myself. It was a delight-Disney to the nth degree!

Four years ago, a severe knee injury forced me to completely change my way of life, requiring me to wear a full brace on my right leg and get around with crutches, and now a cane and/or a motorized scooter. Just as I was in the process of planning our very first trip to WDW, I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis. Everyone told me to postpone the trip but I just couldn't bring myself to do that. The first trip was so uplifting that we went again 18 months later! Needless to say, it’s become a passion and has provided a wonderful “center” for family life.

I am honored and delighted to be a PassPorter Guide!
