I have been on DCL 16 times and I still ordered one for myself and will be ordering another for my sister. I was always a huge fan of the Birnbaum guides but your Passporter guide to Disney Cruise Line sinks their DCL cruise guidebook. We were on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic and have back 15 additional times for a total of 16 DCL with #17 booked for 10/11/08. Sometimes the resort Ratings and Enjoyed By rankings did not match-up. Updated room rates for Shades of Green are located at http://www.shadesofgreen.org/roomrates.pdf. Walking to the Polynesian (5-10 mins) is the best method of transport at SoG. SoG also has a ticket coutner for military discount WDW and Orlando passes and a AAFES shopette that is available to all military, even if you are not staying at SoG.
