Ah, I'm finally getting a chance to send you a message of my own. I built this Web page to help your Mommy and Daddy show you off to the world, then my own "baby" needed my attention again and I didn't get the chance to write a personal message.
When you get to know me better, you'll learn I'm a little quirky that way. But when I love something, I pour my heart into it... like the books I write and the people I love. Welcome to the world, little Nutmeg! Grandma loves you, every bit of you, right down to your purring and cooing to us when you were only 30 minutes old! HOW WONDERFUL IT WAS TO MEET YOU AT LAST!! You seem to have arrived with a love for us already and a strong will of your own to jump right and be a part of the welcoming committee. Your big blue eyes followed your mommy, your daddy, and your Grandma around as each in turn we held you, 30 minutes old, much as if you were a fresh, wise, and loving sage, and you never closed them nor cried, in your purring wonderment of first lookabout.
THE LONG WAIT ENDED A LITTLE EARLY, AND WE WERE THRILLED. During the wait for your appearance, I spent the after-Christmas winter months making your blanket and sweater set, and drawing pictures from nursery rhymes that will soon become your childhood paintings on the nursery walls. Soon I'll work on a story dedicated just to you. YESTERDAY I FED YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME, AT 2 1/2 WEEKS. Looking forward to the day you can visit all my colleagues at the office, and to when you can wear a fluffy little lavender voile dress without it falling off, and to play and life together.
