New Blog Entry: Disney at Home
Authored by: aliceinwdw on 05/21/2012 (1 days ago)

So it's that time of year again: Home Improvement Time! Oh yeah! The DH and I love when it's finally time to open up the windows, break out the toolbox, and get the spring cleaning under way, because there's always something that needs updating or some sprucing up! Ok, so perhaps the DH doesn't actually love this time of year -- since the "Honey Do List" is usually pretty long! -- but, when all is said and done, he (and I!) are quite pleased with the results. (Even with 37 jars of paint samples! :-P) So, my question this week is: Do you design with Disney in mind? Would You Pick a Color! I will admit that I don't go out of my way to purposely buy the Disney paint, figure out ... Keep reading ...

New Blog Entry: Five Great Places to Have a Drink
Authored by: Heather Macdonald on 05/21/2012 (2 days ago)

Jennifer and Sara just did a PassPorter Podcast (If you aren't listening you should be!) on the best places to get a drink in Walt Disney World. I'm going to share my five best places to get a drink at Walt Disney World, but my choices have a slightly different bent to them. I cannot argue that Mizner's Lounge or any of their other choices are not great places to grab a drink. My choices are completely based on the staff serving your drinks and the unique qualities that some of the bars at Walt Disney World have. There are tons of great drink choices in Walt Disney World. However, there are some very special bartenders that I've run across in the past few years. At least from my perspective,... Keep reading ...

New Blog Entry: Wait listing for Disney Vacation Club properties, worth it or not?
Authored by: Cheryl Pendry on 05/21/2012 (2 days ago)

Wait listing is a subject very close to my heart right now, having just gone through the process again. For those who don’t know, or perhaps aren’t Disney Vacation Club members, let me explain it in a nutshell for you. If you can’t get the reservation you want at one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts, then you can obviously book an alternative, but you can also ask to be put on what’s called the wait list. It pretty much does what it says on the tin. You wait to see if your request becomes available, and if it does, then you’ll get it, with your reservation automatically confirmed. Of course, it’s not as simple as it sounds. Chances are there’ll be more than one person with the same ... Keep reading ...

New Blog Entry: The First Meal of the Rest of Your Life
Authored by: Heather Macdonald on 05/19/2012 (3 days ago)

I'm sure you've all heard that old saying, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." Well I've made some big life changes lately and I'm moving to Orlando. What does that mean for you, my dear readers? It means a couple of things. I'll be able to attend some of the special events that are designed for Orlando locals. These include Tables in Wonderland dinners, wine dinners at Jiko, and some of the specialty dinners like last year's Haunted Mansion Room for One More Dinner. It also means that I'll be able to try out new menus as they change, rather than waiting for my next trip. I'll be able to go to new restaurants as they are opening. I'll be able to provide more up to date reviews... Keep reading ...
