DINING

Of the three on-site hotels, Disneyland Hotel has the most places to eat, with two table-service restaurants, two counter-service eateries, and two lounges (all described in detail in Disneyland's Hotel Eateries, starting on page 230). Mix it up with Goofy and his friends for breakfast or dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen, or dine in luxury at Steakhouse 55, also open only for breakfast and dinner. Next door, The Lounge at Steakhouse 55 offers cocktails, appetizers, and the full Steakhouse 55 menu. Tangaroa Terrace serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with Polynesian foods and some American favorites (note that this eatery will be closed September 4-January 2019).  The attached Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, with its Jungle Cruise theme, offers a similar menu, plus exotic specialty drinks. The Coffee House, open 6:00 am-1:00 pm, serves specialty (and regular) coffees, sandwiches, pastries, fruits, and grab-and-go foods. Earlier visitors may remember Hook’s Pointe & Wine Cellar, Croc’s Bits ‘n’ Bites, and The Lost Bar, but they’re gone now.

For Athletes: Goofy About Fitness is free to guests, 24/7. Lift weights (free or machine) or try the treadmills, stationary bikes, or stair-climbers. Register for the 6:00 am Get Up & Go Power Walk—a speedy two-mile walk through Disney California Adventure before it opens.

For Children: Little ones will enjoy the mini water slide, fountains, and water jets at the Monorail Pool.

For Gamers: Disneyland Hotel no longer has an arcade. The arcade at Paradise Pier is 0.7 miles away, but ESPN Zone, with its own video games, is practically next door in Downtown Disney.

For Shoppers: Fantasy Tower hosts the resort's two gift shops. Disney's Fantasia Shop offers a wide selection of Disney merchandise, from toys, food, and t-shirts to strollers and suitcases, 8:00 am-8:00 pm. Head over to small world Gifts and Sundries for hats, swimsuits, toiletries, beer, and wine, 8:00 am-11:00 pm.

For Swimmers: Typically open 8:00 am-10:00 pm, the resort's three pools have everyone covered. The Monorail Pool has two amazing water slides, with replicas of the original monorail cars. The Red Monorail slide is a wild ride, at 25 feet high and 180 feet long, while the tamer Yellow is 13 feet high and 80 feet long. Lap swim in the D-Ticket Pool, kick back in the 3,800-square-foot E-Ticket Pool, or enjoy the Mickey and Minnie whirlpool spas. Rent a poolside cabana for a relaxing pool day; up to six guests can enjoy a luxury hideaway (with flat-screen TV, snacks, and more) at $125/half-day.

ACCESS

Disneyland Hotel is about a 15-minute stroll through Downtown Disney District to both Disney parks. The monorail station five minutes away in Downtown Disney can zip you into Tomorrowland in the Disneyland Park—be sure to bring your park admission. Tip: If you have a one-park pass and plan to visit Disney California Adventure, you'll need to walk. Hotel guest parking is $18/day for self-parking, $28/day for valet (see page 34). Buses (available for a fee) and taxis pick up and drop off in front of the bell desk.
