Kilimanjaro Safaris [B-1] A-OK! |
Board a safari truck to explore 100 acres of African habitat with lions, giraffes, crocodiles, ostriches, gazelle, and many other live animals. Wildlife may be plentiful or scarce, since it’s free to roam. Disney also includes a vague story line in case the animals are feeling shy. The ride gets very bumpy, so hang on tight. We recommend you ride first thing in the morning, late afternoon, or after it rains, when the animals are more active. Sit in outside seats for best views and photos. Check out the new Sunset Kilimanjaro Safaris in the evenings where you can experience two new species: African wild dogs and hyenas. Outdoor queue is covered and has overhead monitors. Height restriction for children riding in front two seats. Young children should be accompanied by an adult. Health warning. Transfer from ECV to wheelchair to ride. Wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening. Closed captioning. Alex’s ToddlerTip: A Alex’s KidTip: “It’s more bumpy and more fun in back.” TweenTip: “Look at the signs in the truck to identify the animals.” |

Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail [B-1] A-OK! |
Animal lovers will stroll enthralled through this exhibit of African wildlife in an artfully built natural habitat. African birds, hippos, meerkats, and a troop of gorillas make their home here. Hands-on exhibits in the naturalist’s hut add interest. A habitat—the Endangered Animal Rehabilitation Centre—calls attention to the African bushmeat crisis. The meerkat viewing area is especially popular, and plan to spend extra time in the aviary. Walk slowly or sit, and the wonders will unfold. Allow several hours if you love to watch animals. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to visit. Wheelchair accessible. Closed captioning. Alex’s KidTip: “The animals can’t get close to you. It’s ok!” Name changed from Pangani Forest Exploration Trail in May 2016. |
