These four experienced and talented writers shared their Disneyland and Southern California experience through valuable contributions to this edition. Each of these individuals also acted as an expert peer reviewer for this guidebook.
Barbara Baker was addicted to the Disneyland magic after her first terrifying plunge on Pirates of the Caribbean as a six year old. Growing up in the San Francisco-Bay Area, the annual family trips to visit her Aunt Barbie and Uncle Jack in Southern California nearly always included a trip to Disneyland. Now she lives in Sacramento, a day's drive from the Happiest Place on Earth. Fortunately her sweetheart, Louis, enjoys visiting the Disneyland Resort as much she does and they make several trips each year. When she's not visiting a Disney theme park or planning the next trip, she spends her time working for California State Parks, motorcycling, knitting, and writing.
Courtney Fontana and her husband Frank are life-long Disney fans -- they even got married with the Mouse in 2003! They have a one-year-old daughter, Taylor, who has already made her first visit to see Mickey. As a former San Diego resident, Courtney has spent a lot of time exploring the area, and regularly took her laptop and cell phone to the beach or Balboa Park, rather than working indoors. Her favorite place in San Diego is the Wgasa Bush Line Railway at the Wild Animal Park, and she never visits Disneyland without a stop at Alice in Wonderland. Courtney is co-owner of Grand Getaways Travel, and enjoys helping families plan trips to make memories that will last a lifetime.
LauraBelle Hime enjoys traveling to Disney anytime of the year with family, friends, or solo, but especially with her grandchildren Alexis, Olivia, Caleb, and Samantha. Disneyland Resort has become her favorite Disney vacation spot. She's spent many happy times at Disneyland and at many Southern California attractions, including the Queen Mary, Catalina, Hollywood, Aquarium of the Pacific, Pantages Theatre, Old Town Temecula, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Pier, Balboa, and various beaches and communities up and down the coast. She finds great satisfaction sharing information and stories at PassPorter.com as a message board guide (moderator) for The Sunroom and The Family Room forums.
Rebecca Oberg recalls one of her fondest childhood memories involved being the first person in the family car to spot the Matterhorn from the freeway. Rebecca has been a fan of Disneyland since her early childhood. She made trips several times a year until moving out of state. She now visits at least once yearly, so her children can enjoy the magic. While she aspires to work on the Storybook Land Canal Boats ride, she currently spends her time teaching second grade and raising three wonderful children. Rebecca's contribution to this book would not have been possible without the loving support of her husband of fourteen years, and lifelong encouragement from her mom.
