Disney Cruise Line(R) with Young Children Many families with small children are looking for vacations with excellent kid's clubs. Some place where they can experience adult activities while the kids are being well taken care of and enjoying their own activities. Few places offer all of these things in one trip but Disney Cruise Line(R) not only provides these services but has taken them to the next level.
At Flounder's Reef Nursery, infants and toddlers can have a blast while mom and dad choose a day at the spa or just lounging around the adults-only pool. The Little Mermaid-themed Flounder's Reef is a daycare environment that entertains your little ones between the ages of 3 years and 3 months at various times throughout the day so you can enjoy a little adult time. Flounder's Reef boasts 2 separate rooms; one for activities and one for more quiet play and naps. The daily activities are unscheduled and revolve around the mood of the group and also provide family time at select times during the cruise. The highly qualified counselors will make sure every child's needs are met by offering an adult to infant ratio of 1 to 4, and an adult to toddler ratio of 1 to 6. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made as early as 105 days out. Please note that 15 hours is the maximum total visit length per child, per cruise and requires a nominal fee of $6.00 per hour. Also, infants must be at least 12 weeks old to travel.
Disney's Oceaneer Club is the ideal place for children 3 to 7 years of age to enjoy a wide variety of supervised activities throughout the day. Created to look like Captain Hook's ship from Disney's Peter Pan; the Oceaneer Club has everything for imaginative young minds. This area offers a computer lab with child-friendly computers, a crow's nest slide and rope bridge for exploring, Captain's Closet dress-up room, music-listening stations, a reading area, lounge, dance floor, a small stage for games, multiple televisions, an open seating area for arts and crafts, and ongoing Disney movies make Disney's Oceaneer Club even more magical. During their visit, children are separated into 2 categories: 3 to 4 year olds and 5 to 7 year olds. The adult to child ratio is 1 to 15 for ages 3 to 4 and 1 to 25 for ages 5 to 7. Your Personal Navigator will keep you informed of the days and times for the daily activities at the Club which may include: Toy Story Boot Camp, Do-Si-Do with Snow White, "So You Want To Be a Pirate" and Mouseketeers in Training, many which include special guest appearances! Children can also enjoy lunch and dinner at the club, which can be especially convenient for parents looking for some alone time at Palo. Mats for naps are also available when they get too tuckered out. To register for the Oceaneer Club, children and parents must check in at the front desk of the Club upon boarding the ship on Embarkation Day, or they can register at the Kids' Club desk at the Port. During this confirmation process, parents will fill out final paperwork and receive a pager in the event the counselors need to make contact. The children will receive a wristband indicating that they are part of Disney's Oceaneer Club and information such as name, age group, stateroom number and medical information.
Once your children enter their clubs they will be grinning from ear to ear and begging to stay. Knowing that they are safe, secure, and having the time of their lives gives you the peace of mind to finally relax and enjoy your vacation, too. Disney Cruise Line(R) provides plenty of room and activities for adults only. Whether you want a romantic dinner at Palo, a couple's massage at the Vista Spa, or want to dance all night at the Rockin' Bar D or Wavebands, you are free to do whatever you want on Disney Cruise Line(R).
