Whether you are planning an adult only trip or just want to take a break to enjoy an adult beverage while on your trip, there are numerous locations in and out of the parks to take a stop and explore. You’ll find that Walt Disney World has something to offer anyone and everyone! With so many options to choose from it is hard to decide where to begin, so here is a list of my personal “Top 5 not to be missed” lounges at Walt Disney World.
Number Five - the Rose and Crown Pub
Cozy up to the bar for a pint at Disney’s own British pub! Enjoy a few drinks as well as a few yummy bites at this lively pub in the United Kingdom pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. Enjoy fish and chips, a scotch egg, or battered banger and chips while exploring their selection of beers, wines, hard liquors and pub blends. Two of my personal favorite Pub Blends are the Snake Bite, Half Cider and Half Harp, and the Black Velvet, Half Cider and Half Guinness. Be warned, this inviting spot can get a little loud as day turns into night. The Rose and Brown Pub is an enjoyable place to take a break and enjoy a drink during your day or night exploring the countries of Epcot’s World Showcase!
Number Four - the Tune-In Lounge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The Tune-In Lounge offers a retro feel with its bar and living room lounge area decorated in 50’s décor. This comfy space has fun knick-knacks and a black and white tv showing clips of 50’s era tv shows. Located adjacent to Hollywood Studio’s 50’s Prime Time Café, this lounge offers a full bar and full menu. This fun spot is a great location to take a break and enjoy a drink, a Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake, or if you’re really hungry, even a full meal. Stop by and take a trip back in time!
Number Three - the Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter
Are you looking for a spot to immerse yourself in some southern-style jazz? Then you’ve found the perfect place. The Scat Cat’s Club offers walls of music memorabilia to peruse while you try a drink from the full bar, munch on a few appetizers, and enjoy live music. At Scat Cat’s, jazz, blues, and soul music await you. Maybe you’ve never been to Port Orleans French Quarter, well, now is your chance to explore this lovely resort. Take a relaxing walk along the river or a romantic ride in a horse drawn carriage and then pull up a chair, try a Sassagoula Swamp Water cocktail, and enjoy Scat Cat’s Club!
Number Two - Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs
This for all the Indiana Jones fans out there. Remember Indy’s pilot Jock Lindsey and his pet snake Reggie from Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, this is his place! Enter this bar and you can just hear the Indiana Jones theme playing through your mind. Lovers of this unforgettable adventure series will enjoy the décor, memorabilia, and even salvaged equipment spread all across the lounge in this 1940s airplane hangar. Move outside and you will find Jock’s steamboat dry-docked by the pier. Here the menu items are named for Indy’s and Jock’s adventures. Hungry? Here you can find a wide array of food items including the Air Pilots Pretzels, Snakebite Sliders, Sallah’s Falafel, Temple Tenderloin, Wu Han’s Hot Wings, and Mac’s Pork Belly Sliders. Care to wet your whistle? Some drinks you can try include an Anything Goes, The Scottish Professor, Shorty’s Singapore Sling, a Hail Marty, a Wrong Island!, the Reggie’s Revenge or even the Fountain of Youth. Make a point to explore Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar!
And finally, my Number One Lounge at Walt Disney World is Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto!
If you’re a Jungle Cruise fan or just a fan of tiki bars then this place is for you! Located in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, this tropical tiki bar has lively bartenders, fun drinks, and unique finger foods, complete with corny jokes and humorous surprises around every nook and cranny. Here, you will find lots of references to the Jungle Cruise and it’s “head” salesman, Trader Sam. Enjoy a Headhunter Sushi Roll while you sip on your HippopotoMai-Tai but just watch out for those hippos in the trees! How do you get them to come down?!? Stop by and discover the secret! Mai-Tai not your cup of tea, there are lots of other options that offer amusing surprises when you order. I don’t want to spoil all the fun but make a point to visit this place and consider ordering the Uh-Oa!, Shrunken Zombie Head, Polynesian Pearl, or Nautilus for some unique surprises to go along with your delicious drinks.
